Whoops I Almost Forgot! – #15

Just remembered that I promised to report what my focus was for December but didn’t follow through!

My priority for December was to exercise. I did pretty well except for yesterday (Saturday) when I couldn’t make myself do anything. But I was back at it today for thirty minutes even though it was my day off.

My overall priority for 2018 is exercise. My intention is to do some exercise or movement six days a week and take Sunday off. I will keep you posted.

I’m taking the word priority at its most basic meaning – as singular. I, of course, will have other priorities but want to declare exercise as my #1 priority.

I would love to hear what your #1 priority will be for the new year.

Thanks for exploring the mystery – Nicky Mendenhall

  1. I have the same thoughts on exercise and the same 6 day a week plan. I’ve been pretty faithful for 15 months. I don’t imagine you are out walking now with below zero temps! I’m still using the Lark app to keep me on track. What are you doing for exercise?

  2. So good ro hear from you Nolan! I like that we are both on the 6 day plan. I got the idea from a book my personal trainer suggested.

No, I'm not out – it is minus 17 this morning – really still and the sun is shining which helps emotionally. I am doing a combination of things. Wendell and I go to a class at the Fitness Center that does a little bit of everything, cardio, strength, balance. I go on Thursday to a water class that is helping my fear of water lessen. At home I work on the TRX exercises. Thanks for asking!

I don't know what Lark is or does. Can you fill me in?

  3. I, too, want to make exercise, in particular, walking, as my priority. But, I have to say, I try to make it a priority every year, for the past several years. However, I want to tweak it a little this year, by saying I'm ABLE and EXCITED to exercise…..instead of thinking of it as drudgery. Although I'm sure there will be days when I feel it's a chore, overall, I want to look forward to "working" my body.
