The most basic and powerful way to connect to another person is to listen.
Just listen.
Perhaps the most important thing we ever give each other is our attention. A loving silence often has far more power to heal and to connect than the most well-intentioned words.

Mom and Dad gave me that toaster when I lived in Sioux City. I burned lots of toast using it. Do you have one or is it just a file photo?
Hi Nolan! It is a matter of pride that all photos/images posted on my blog are my creation unless stated. But to answer your question, no, I don't have the toaster. my OR son has it!
I asked Nolan if he still had it – and here is his reply:
The toaster is toast! The old fuzzy style cord failed and was tossed in the late 1970s.
Nice reminder? thanks
Thanks Matt – your funny little emoticon turned into questions.
There are always questions when one is exploring the mystery!
