The Joy of Removing Obstacles!

I’m still peeking into The Aware Athlete for inspiration. The latest phrase that caught my attention: REMOVING OBSTACLES.

This seems like the secret to accomplishing any goal.

Right now my goal is to get as many chapters in my memoir about my experience in Freudian psychoanalysis revised before the end of July.

The obstacle this morning was the need to spend time composing a blog post. So I’m going to go around this block (pun intended) and make a short post. In doing this I have effectively removed an obstacle. What obstacles do you need to remove? Please let me know!

Thanks for exploring the mystery – Nicky Mendenhall

CLUE: Eat raspberries – they are still good! Or if you prefer – strawberries! I know one of my readers doesn’t like raspberries!

I don’t know what to think about that.

Been thinking about you with the Midwest heatwave. Sounds pretty brutal with the heat index at 115!

    Stay cool

  2. Thanks for the good wishes Nolan!

I still don't know what to think either but I finished revising Chapter 12 this morning!

Sending love to you & Mary!

  3. You showed us in this post just how simple removing obstacles can be! You could have moaned and groaned about having to write a post and how that was taking away precious time from the goal you most wanted to focus on. Instead, you wrote a short, instructive post, used yourself as an example, and went on your way! YAY!!

    Enjoy your week!

  4. Thank you Diane – as I told my brother – I finished the revision of Chapter 12 just now!

Thanks for the positive re frame – much appreciated.

Nicola, it seems that they first step in overcoming obstacles is facing them, this allows us to bring clarity to what they represent in the moment at this very present time and then we might see good alternatives as you did by posting something short but also thought provoking.

  6. Scott –

Thanks for the message – I like the idea that the first step is facing what is blocking us and deciding what they represent – and how you said "at this very present time" – which implies that things change – and indeed they do!

I appreciate your kind words too.
    Sending my best!
    Nicky
